Privacy.

In short

There are no accounts or profiles, and we never receive your images. Apart from some of your room options, such as the room and pictures you chose, which are remembered in your own browser rather than on our server, we do not keep data about you. The only other information involved is anonymous visit counts and short-lived technical details, described below.

We do not store any images. Pictures you choose are used in your browser while the page is open and are gone when you close or reload it, so you will need to choose them again each visit. Save any photo or preview you want to keep to your own device; we cannot recover it for you.

Your images stay with you

Images you choose for the room or pattern checker stay in your browser and are never sent to a server. Rendering and saving photos happen on your device. We do not collect your image contents or upload filenames, and images are never put in a shared link.

A shared room or checker link contains only design choices and preview settings. To use a local image again, choose the file again. The site remembers some interface choices in your browser’s local storage, not in a server account.

Anonymous site analytics

On the published site we use Umami analytics provided through Replit, without cookies. It measures page visits and basic visit information, such as the referring site, browser, device and approximate country, to help us understand which tools people use.

We also count interactions: opening rooms, designs, checker and shared links; switching rooms; choosing a pattern, adding your own pattern or changing the light; loading a checker tile; starting and finishing renders; saving photos; opening pictures in ChatGPT; and clicking shop links. Event details may include the link’s placement or source, a public design slug or product type, the room, light and render quality, how your own pattern was added (chosen or dropped in), whether an image is your own, whether grain was removed, the image format, or whether a shared link was valid or failed. We do not send image contents, upload names or full room settings as event data.

Purchases are on Contrado and Spoonflower

Shop links take you to Contrado or Spoonflower, which handle prices, checkout, payment and delivery under their own privacy policies. My Drawing Room does not collect payment or order details. Referral tags on shop links identify where a visit came from.

Some public design pages show product images hosted by Contrado; viewing those images makes a request to Contrado.

ChatGPT and the public catalogue

The ChatGPT connection only reads the public catalogue and available preview options. It can prepare room or checker links; it cannot access your local files, browser’s saved choices, or rendered photos, and it does not make purchases. If you save a room preview and attach it in ChatGPT for a realistic picture, the image goes from your device to ChatGPT, not to our server. Your conversation with ChatGPT is covered by its provider’s own privacy policy.

When ChatGPT uses My Drawing Room, our server receives only what the request needs: search words, design names, room or repeat settings and the page of results. It never receives your conversation, images, name or account details. Requests are answered and not stored. To limit request rates, the server keeps your network address in memory for about a minute, then discards it.

Who else is involved

Replit hosts the site and provides its analytics. Like any web host, it may keep standard request logs, such as the time, network address and page requested, to run and secure the service, and its analytics use network and browser data such as your IP address to estimate visitors and countries. We see only aggregated reports. Contrado receives your visit when you follow a shop link or view its product images, and Spoonflower when you follow a link to its shop. OpenAI handles your ChatGPT conversations. Each follows its own privacy policy. We do not sell data or share it with anyone else.

How long information is kept

Remembered interface choices stay in your browser until you clear them. ChatGPT requests are not stored. Rate-limit addresses are discarded after about a minute. Analytics and hosting logs are kept by Replit under its own retention policy; we do not export or keep copies of them.

Your choices

No account is needed, so there is no profile to delete. You can clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove remembered choices, use a content blocker to block analytics, and disconnect My Drawing Room in ChatGPT’s settings at any time.

My Drawing Room is run by Ruth Heasman, trading as Ruth Designs. Questions about privacy: info@ruthdesigns.co.uk. See also the terms of use.
