01 / MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

A room to play in.
Not a rule book.

Choose a parlour, with sofa and fireplace views, or settle into a bedroom. Try a Ruth Designs wallpaper, or bring your own pattern file. Then add the things that make a room yours.

  • Curtains & cushions
  • Duvet & rug
  • Framed paintings
  • Lamps & a favourite mug

Your quick preview appears straight away, so you can change your mind as often as you like. Match everything. Mix everything. There’s no wrong place to start.

What if the curtains were butterflies, too?

02 / A DIFFERENT LIGHT

Morning person?
Or a lamplight sort?

Light changes the feeling of a room. Choose daylight for a bright, fresh look, or lamplight for a cosy evening. It’s worth trying both.

A little note about AI pictures

ChatGPT pictures are room inspiration, not product photographs. Patterns, colours, scale and furnishings may differ from the real products. Enjoy the ideas — and check the product details before buying.

04 / THE LITTLE THINGS

It’s all in
the details.

A pattern can travel from the wall to a cushion, from a duvet to the mug by your chair. Try a small echo of colour, or let the whole room bloom.

A FEW USEFUL THINGS

Keep the idea going.

Room links share a set-up room, so someone else can explore your choices. Your own image files aren’t included — choose them again on the other device.

There’s also a My Drawing Room app inside ChatGPT. Ask it to find Ruth Designs patterns and prepare room links for you.

On this site, your images are never uploaded or stored. Everything happens on your device, with no account needed. If you choose to open a picture in ChatGPT, it goes from your device to ChatGPT, not to us. More about privacy.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions,
answered.

Anything else? Just ask.

Is My Drawing Room free?

Yes. There is no account and nothing to install; it runs in your web browser.

Can I use my own wallpaper pattern?

Yes. Choose a repeat tile from your device and it is placed on the walls. The image stays in your browser and is not uploaded.

Where can I buy the wallpapers shown?

Every included pattern is by Ruth Heasman and is sold through the Ruth Designs shop on Contrado as wallpaper, and many also as curtains, cushions, rugs, bedding and mugs.

How do I check that a pattern repeats without seams?

Use the free pattern checker. It tiles your image across a large field in a straight or half-drop repeat so joins are easy to spot.

Pin an idea. Change your mind. Make it yours.

Shall we try a room?

Nothing to sign up for. Nothing to get wrong.
